Hey Guys!  I hope you are loving the new look of the site as much as I am.  Stay tuned on Friday as I give a little more detail into how the change came to be.  In the meantime, it’s been a while since I’ve done a make-up related post and I recently did a bit of a summer beauty stock-up so I thought I’d some of my favourite products.

The trip to the mall came about when we got back from the Bahamas and I had gone from my winter skintone to summer skintone in a matter of 3 days.  Don’t worry, I’m an avid sunscreen user, but I also have Sicilian skin and all I have to do is look at the sun and I’ve got a tan (I also always have the worst runners tan).

1. Mac Cosmetics Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

I’ve been using this foundation for years.  My favourite thing about it is the ease of use and excellent coverage.  I love the way it evens out my complexion and makes my skin look flawless without being too heavy or cakey.  I’m currently wearing NW30.

2. Mac Cosmetics Powder Blush

The one thing that keeps me coming back to Mac again and again is their colours including their blushes.  I’ve yet to found any other blush that give the same amount of saturation of colour that these ones have.  I’ve been wearing Dollymix for a while now, in fact, my very first blog post was about how to fix a broken compact after I had dropped my Dollymix on the ground.  This time around I wanted a little less saturation but just as much glow so the makeup artist recommended Peachykeen and it was a solid recommendation.  It’s a great everyday colour with just a hint of shimmer, and who doesn’t love shimmer?

3. Benefit They’re Real! Mascara

Nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to this mascara!  The first time I tried it, I’ll be honest, I hated it.  But, that was because the brush takes some practice use as it has bristles all the way around.  However, what those little suckers do is separate and define the lashes and give a ton of volume!

4. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

It’s taken me a while to get on board with Clinique skin care products, especially since I’ve been wearing Clinique since I was a teenager (please bring back the original Starstruck and Golden Lynx Clinique, PLEASE!).  I think my first issue that I finally corrected this purchase was buying the moisturizing gel for combination/oily skin.  It’s light, pleasant smelling and doesn’t make my skin greasy after applying it.  Previous to this I’d been a long-time use of Philosphy Hope in a Jar and I think I might be a Clinique convert now.

BONUS Purchase

So after this shopping excursion I had to return to Sephora because I ran out of concealer.  I picked up Bare Minerals Correcting Concealer in Medium 2.  I’ll admit I often get hormone-related breakouts so concealer is something I use on the regular.  The coverage is fantastic but not heavy.  It’s great to hide all those little imperfections!
